This position is located in Evergreen Park at Evergreen Behavioral Health, an outpatient department of Chicago Behavioral Hospital.   Your Work Matters How will you make a difference?   Are you a Nurse Practitioner (NP) looking for a rewarding and challenging role in psychiatric care? We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team as an independent contractor in our outpatient department!    As an NP at our hospital, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to our patients. You will coordinate decision-making with the psychiatrist, perform clinical assessments, and develop treatment plans. Our team includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, mental health technicians, social workers, therapists, and educators. We seek someone who can establish empathy and a person-centered approach to patients, recognize their limitations, and respond to challenging situations with skill and professionalism. Conduct follow-up visits after initial assessments Participate in weekly staffing and family sessions Prescribe pharmacologic interventions as necessary Review laboratory and diagnostic test results Consult with attending psychiatrists and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to perform clinical assessments, adhering to psychiatric and medical nursing procedures Communicate with patients, families, and others to obtain required information   Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:   Education: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois preferred.  Completion of a Master’s Program (Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner) from an accredited nursing school preferred.
