Creative Art Therapist – Outpatient Behavioral Health

Location: Exton, Paoli, and surrounding Pennsylvania locations
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday
Travel: Local travel between outpatient sites required

About Us

We are seeking a creative, compassionate, and clinically skilled Creative Art Therapist to join our outpatient team. This is an excellent opportunity for a therapist who is passionate about using expressive arts to promote healing, self-discovery, and recovery.

Position Overview

The Creative Art Therapist is responsible for facilitating expressive arts-based clinical support services across multiple outpatient programs. Through art, music, dance, and other creative modalities, this role helps clients process emotions, build coping skills, and enhance their overall treatment experience.

This position collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure services align with each client's clinical needs and treatment goals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Facilitate creative arts therapy groups using art, music, dance, and other expressive modalities based on client needs and program goals.
  • Develop and prepare session plans, activities, and materials for scheduled groups.
  • Observe client participation and communicate relevant clinical observations to the treatment team.
  • Collaborate with therapists, clinical leadership, and program staff to support treatment planning and service delivery.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment during all sessions.
  • Respond appropriately to crisis situations and follow established safety protocols.
  • Participate in required supervision, team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Travel between assigned outpatient program locations as scheduled.
  • Work approximately 15–20 hours per week based on program needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all company policies, ethical standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Complete all required trainings and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education, Licensure, & Experience

  • Master's degree in a clinical or behavioral health field required.
  • For Music Therapist roles supporting Substance Use Disorder programs, a Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy is acceptable.
  • ATR-BC, MT-BC, or BC-DMT preferred; candidates actively pursuing board certification will be considered.
  • LPC or LCSW preferred, but not required.
