Summary:
The Mailroom Shift Supervisor is responsible for the overall execution and supervision of mailroom operations during an assigned shift, ensuring compliance with company standards and guaranteeing the accurate and timely distribution of all newspaper products and inserts.
This is a night-shift position starting at approximately 5:15 PM.
What you will do:
Direct, coordinate, and assign duties to mailroom personnel and temporary staff, ensuring all safety and procedural guidelines are followed
Ensure the accurate sign-in and sign-out of temporary labor
Coordinate with Pressroom management to assure edition quality and accuracy
Oversee the handling and staging of all newspaper products by edition, assuring accuracy and quality control
Manage inventory-related tasks involving front page notes, library copies, and all special handle requests
Complete and distribute all required daily reporting and paperwork for the assigned shift, including Dow Jones reporting, shift report, and incident reporting
Display strong leadership and team-building skills
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
What you will bring:
Basic math skills and the ability to work with numbers for managing draws and counts
Working knowledge of mailroom equipment and production processes
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
Forklift and rider jack proficiency
Computer literacy (Google Suite, Office Suite)
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
One or more years of related experience (preferred)
Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly range is $15.00 - $25.00.
