Service Center Lead

Position: Service Center Lead

Position Summary:

The Service Center Lead supports the Service Center Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a specific service center. This role assists in coordinating procedures across departments, ensuring safety standards, and supporting route budget management. The Service Center Lead works closely with drivers, transportation staff, and other stakeholders, helping implement policies and procedures while monitoring operational performance to support excellence in service delivery.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in managing transportation operations for the service center
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of transportation policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations under the guidance of the Service Center Manager
  • Assist in supervising, training, and coaching transportation staff
  • Conduct safety checks and support corrective action initiatives
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain smooth route operations
  • Assist in monitoring route budgets and tracking expenditures
  • Support relationship management with transportation vendors and stakeholders
  • Step in for the Service Center Manager as needed for meetings, communications, and operational oversight

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the transportation or related operations industry
  • Leadership experience with the ability to guide and motivate teams
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices and familiarity with state and federal transportation regulations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
