Job Title: Entry-Level Prototype Build/Weld Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an Entry-Level Prototype Build/Weld Technician to support the assembly and welding of metal prototype parts. This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in metal fabrication and welding. You will work with experienced technicians and engineers to build prototype and low-volume parts while learning shop skills, safety practices, and welding techniques.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with building and assembling metal prototype parts

  • Perform basic MIG and/or TIG welding (training provided)

  • Prepare parts for welding by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and deburring

  • Set up parts using clamps and fixtures to hold them in place

  • Read basic drawings or follow build instructions

  • Check parts visually and with basic measuring tools

  • Grind and finish welded parts as needed

  • Keep your work area clean and safe

  • Follow all safety rules and wear required protective equipment

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Interest in welding, fabrication, or hands-on manufacturing work

  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools (or willingness to learn)

  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform simple math

  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and ask questions

  • Reliable attendance and positive attitude

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Welding classes or trade school experience

  • Any shop, mechanical, or hands-on work experience

  • Basic blueprint or drawing familiarity

Work Environment

  • Prototype fabrication shop

  • Exposure to welding sparks, noise, and metal materials
