Lube Technician - Fairfax
Transdev in Fairfax, VAis seeking an experienced Lube Technician to bolster our team. The primary responsibility of the Lube Technician at the Fairfax Connector facility is to perform daily lubrication tasks on the buses and other equipment in pit operations. They will also operate and inspect vehicles to diagnose/trouble shoot defects.

Key Responsibilities:  
 
  • Performs oil and lube services on fleet vehicles as well as point inspections and lubrications, brake inspection and replacement, filter inspection and replacement.
  • Check all fluids accessible in the engine compartment, refill as necessary; check and service batteries, check cooling system condition, including belts and hoses, check automatic transmission fluid.
  • Lubricate grease fittings and joints, check the fluid levels in differentials, manual transmission gearboxes transfer cases, and transaxles.
  • Checks electrical components of fleet vehicles repairs as needed.
  • Creates and processes shop repair orders for mechanics, maintains appropriate paperwork and reports for shop.
  • May provide mechanical assistance and repair as needed or directed by Foreman on other fleet vehicles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Some Automotive experience
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.   
  • Must be willing to learn more difficult tasks
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexible to work various shifts
  • Ability to work under direct supervision
 
Physical Requirements:
 
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
