Inova Orthopedics is looking for a dedicated Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join the team at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus/ Inova Loudoun or Inova Alexandria Hospital. This role will be full-time Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible. 

Orthopedic patients find world-class treatment for complex musculoskeletal conditions at the Inova Orthopedic Trauma and Fracture Care Program, part of the Inova Trauma Center. The Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is Northern Virginia’s only Level 1 trauma center. Many of our patients transfer to Inova from other healthcare facilities located throughout the mid-Atlantic and region and beyond. Inova Loudoun Hospital is an accredited Level 2 trauma center and Inova Alexandria is moving toward trauma accreditation.

Our highly rated orthopedic trauma team utilizes the latest in surgical advances, including minimally invasive surgical techniques to enhance the healing process.

 Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal trauma.
  • Perform operative and non-operative management of fractures involving the upper and lower extremities, pelvis, acetabulum, and other complex musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Participate in trauma call coverage and provide timely consultation for emergency department and inpatient trauma cases.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and patient safety programs.
  • Supervise and educate advanced practice providers, residents, fellows, and medical students, as applicable.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital bylaws, accreditation standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and continuing medical education activities.

 

Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited institution. 
  • Training: successful completion of Orthopedic residency program and successful completion of Orthopedic Trauma fellowship.  
  • Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified in Orthopedics
  • Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) upon start
  • Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
  • Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

 

Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1+ year physician experience in Orthopedic Trauma
