How You'll Make an Impact
- Develop and cultivate new commercial insurance opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting, and strategic business development efforts.
- Expand the agency's book of business by identifying client needs and delivering customized property and casualty insurance solutions.
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance and financial service offerings.
- Partner with carriers and underwriters to negotiate competitive coverage options, favorable terms, and strategic solutions for clients.
- Execute consultative sales presentations, prepare new business quotations, and guide clients through the insurance decision-making process.
- Collaborate with Benefits and 401(k) teams to identify and pursue opportunities that create additional value for clients.
- Utilize marketing tools and outreach campaigns to generate leads, strengthen market presence, and support revenue growth.
- Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, and business results to continuously improve sales effectiveness and client outcomes.

What You Bring
Day One:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sales or account management role
- Active Virginia Property & Casualty Insurance License
- Strong understanding of commercial and personal lines insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles
- Proven ability to analyze client needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand financial metrics, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and related business applications
- Strong organizational, project management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethical standards
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Valuable Additions:
- Previous experience working within a commercial lines insurance agency
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Virginia Life & Health Insurance License
- Demonstrated success developing and executing growth-focused sales strategies
- Experience mentoring team members or sharing industry expertise
- Established relationships within the Virginia business community
- Experience leveraging marketing campaigns, referral networks, and strategic partnerships to drive business growth
