Position Summary
Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. We are exploring the addition of an experienced Technical Writer III to develop, refine, validate, and manage clear, accurate, evidence-informed content for technical programs. The role requires writing, plain-language communication, and technology-enabled content operations where applicable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, program materials, implementation guides, white papers, literature summaries, SOPs, training materials, website content, fact sheets, etc.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, clinicians, researchers, program managers, communications specialists, and federal stakeholders to gather information, validate accuracy, resolve comments, and align content with program goals.
  • Design and maintain reusable content assets, including approved language libraries, evidence tables, FAQ banks, plain-language modules, executive-summary templates, audience-specific message maps, and review-ready document shells.
  • Support content strategy, message development, stakeholder review cycles, version control, quality assurance, and document management across multiple concurrent deliverables.
  • Work with project teams to define data flow between applications to be integrated, mapping business process activities to the application dependencies in collaboration with Product Owners, Architects, and technical resources. Additionally, perform functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships.
  • Help coordinate design sessions, take notes during the design sessions, and conduct follow-up with stakeholders to close action items.
  • Update technical documents based on design sessions, technical requirements, and/or stakeholder-provided documentation.
  • Provide final documentation updates in preparation for formal deliverable submission.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Approximately five (5)+ years of professional writing, editing, or technical communications experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to write accurately for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with structured content, content reuse, modular writing, metadata tagging, document templates, content-management systems, collaboration platforms, reference-management tools, and workflow automation.
  • Ability to build repeatable writing workflows that reduce manual rework, improve consistency across products, and maintain audit-ready traceability from source evidence to final language.
  • Comfort evaluating emerging tools for fit, risk, security, usability, accessibility, source traceability, federal stakeholder needs, and quality-control burden.
  • Strong understanding of technical terminology, healthcare delivery systems, and health communications principles.
  • Experience developing or editing technical reports, clinical guidance, educational materials, web content, program documentation, training content, or executive-level briefing materials.
  • Exceptional command of grammar, structure, tone, plain language, and document organization.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deliverables, deadlines, review cycles, and stakeholder inputs simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and collaborative document review tools.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

The posted salary range is the company’s good-faith estimate for this role. PFS benefits and compensation are determined by various factors, including, but not limited to, location; the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience; as well as contract and organizational requirements.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
