Position Summary

Freestone is seeking a skilled and dependable Breakfast Cook to execute high-quality breakfast and brunch service in a fast-paced, upscale kitchen environment. This role is responsible for preparing and presenting breakfast dishes with precision, consistency, and efficiency while maintaining the elevated standards expected in a luxury resort.

The ideal candidate thrives in early-morning operations, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and can deliver exceptional food quality during high-volume service periods.

Qualifications

  • 1–3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen (breakfast or brunch experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of breakfast cooking techniques (eggs, griddle, sauté, baked items)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Operate and manage breakfast stations (e.g., eggs, griddle, sauté, breakfast meats, bakery items)
  • Ensure timely and accurate ticket execution during peak service periods
  • Prepare mise en place and stock stations prior to service
  • Maintain freshness, quality, and proper storage of all ingredients
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization of kitchen and workstations at all times
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and team members to ensure smooth service flow
  • Assist with prep for other meal periods as needed

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Early morning shifts are required, with flexible scheduling based on business needs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25–50 lbs.)
  • Work performed in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat and equipment
