Position Summary:Â
Coordinate and facilitate group Transcendental Meditation (TM) practice sessions for fellow students in alignment with the Growth of Consciousness Department schedule and protocols. This role helps sustain MIU’s culture of peace, coherence, and well-being by ensuring smooth, welcoming, and consistent group meditation experiences.
We are hiring 2 Coordinators for this semester:
- Morning Coordinator – Festival Hall, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM start time
- Afternoon Coordinator – Patanjali Golden Dome, Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM start time

This position is ideal for Maharishi Vedic Science (MVS) students and Enlightenment & Leadership students who are passionate about fostering a harmonious and uplifting campus environment through regular group meditation. The role offers opportunities to develop leadership skills, deepen one’s personal practice, and gain experience relevant to careers in TM teaching, holistic wellness, education, leadership, and personal development
Experience Gained / Advantageous for the Student:
- Practical experience in leading group meditation and creating a peaceful, focused atmosphere.
- Enhanced skills in guiding Pranayama and TM practices.
- Leadership and coordination experience through engaging with participants and ensuring session flow.
- Contribution to a vibrant and supportive meditation community on campus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Arrive by 8:25 AM to welcome participants and ensure the meditation space is prepared.
- Record attendance (first and last names) and share via Outlook with Dan Law (dlaw@miu.edu).
- Lead Pranayama starting at 8:30 AM, followed by TM practice from 8:35 - 8:55 AM.
- Guide participants out of meditation gradually, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Ensure the space is tidy and all participants have exited before concluding.
Afternoon Coordinator – Patanjali Golden Dome (3:00 PM)
- Arrive by 2:55 PM to welcome participants and assist them in the shoe room.
- Record attendance and share via Outlook with Dan Law (dlaw@miu.edu).
- Lead Pranayama at 3:00 PM, followed by TM practice from 3:05–3:25 PM.
- Guide participants out of meditation gradually.
- Ensure all participants have exited before concluding.
Job Qualifications:Â
- Ideally a Maharishi Vedic Science (MVS) major or an Enlightenment & Leadership student (keen students from other majors with strong grounding in their TM practice will be considered).
- Punctual, reliable, and able to commit to the scheduled sessions.
- Proficiency in Pranayama and TM, with the confidence to lead others.
- Strong communication skills and a welcoming presence.
