Full-Time Lead Toddler Teacher
The Goddard School – Fairfield, CT

The Goddard School of Fairfield is seeking a warm, energetic, and dedicated Full-Time Lead Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about supporting the growth, development, and daily care of infants in a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

Position Overview

The Lead Infant Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, fostering positive relationships with children and families, and creating a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and early learning success. You will guide toddlers through important developmental milestones while ensuring a consistent, structured, and caring daily routine.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood learning standards and Goddard curriculum 
  •  Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment for toddlers 
  •  Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times 
  •  Support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning 
  •  Build strong, positive relationships with families through daily communication and updates 
  •  Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety regulations 
  •  Observe and document developmental progress and milestones 
  •  Collaborate with assistant teachers and leadership staff to support classroom success 
  •  Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities 
Qualifications

  •  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred) 
  •  Prior experience working in a toddler or early childhood classroom 
  •  Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices 
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  •  Ability to create a positive, patient, and nurturing classroom environment 
  •  CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) 
  •  Must meet all state licensing requirements for childcare staff in Connecticut 
  • Knowledge in NAEYC a plus!
