Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor provides daily leadership and long‑term direction for the production team to meet operational targets. This role is pivotal in ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality manufacturing performance. Through effective supervision, coordination, and collaboration with cross‑functional partners, the Production Supervisor enables the department to meet throughput, scrap, HSE, quality, and schedule objectives, directly contributing to overall site success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee shift production performance, ensuring throughput, scrap, and schedule adherence targets are met.
  • Maintain HSE systems for all team members and production areas under supervision.
  • Lead compliance with the Quality Management System, including adherence to Control Plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Planning on production schedule needs and adjustments.
  • Work with Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, Planning, and Quality to support a world‑class work environment.
  • Engage teams and Quality in Customer Complaint and NCR processes.
  • Enter Maintenance Work Orders and support preventive maintenance activities.
  • Develop, mentor, and provide guidance to team members and Shift Leads.
  • Lead and contribute to Continuous Improvement projects and 5S initiatives.
  • Conduct daily team meetings and maintain consistent communication rhythms.
  • Support workforce planning, including interviewing operator candidates, temporary manpower adjustments, and coordination with HR.
  • Act as point person for disciplinary actions, performance reviews, and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong two‑way communication skills with team members, customers, and business partners.
  • Knowledge of Safety principles, 5S, CI tools (8D, 5 Why), and root‑cause analysis.
  • Ability to remain professional under stress and set clear priorities.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency with innovative problem‑solving capabilities.

Education & Training

  • High School Diploma required; Community College or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Formal Continuous Improvement training required.
  • Six Sigma White or Green Belt preferred.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience required.

Working Conditions

  • 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑2‑3 rotation; every other weekend.
  • Approximately 75% plant floor / 25% office environment.
  • Medium mental stress expected at times based on production demands and equipment performance.
