At NorthBay Health, the Rehabilitation Therapy Aide works under the supervision of the Rehab Supervisor. Under direct supervision of Physical/Occupational/Speech therapist, performs clearly defined physical therapy treatments as assigned, prepares patients and equipment for therapy, responsible for maintenance of department work areas and equipment, and performs general clerical duties as assigned.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Assists Physical/Occupational/Speech therapist in treatment procedures and/or modalities.
Directs and assists patients in exercise programs develop by the Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapist.
Directs and assists patients in ambulation skills as directed by the Physical /Occupational/Speech Therapist.
Reports any problems, patient reactions, etc., arising during patient’s treatment to responsible therapist.
Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Maintains established levels of supplies including linens, crutches, bandages, etc.
Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
Attends department and hospital meetings as required.
Performs clerical duties as assigned.
Establishes and maintains effective communication with medical staff, co-workers, patients and hospital personnel.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
