POSITION:  Radiation Therapist

LOCATION: Float between locations

WEEKLY HOURS: 40

 

 

OHC – Specialists in Cancer and Blood disorders, is seeking a full time Radiation Therapist to float between our radiation locations.  As the only independent adult cancer program in the region, we offer Medical, Radiation, Blood and Marrow Transplant, Gynecologic, and Breast Surgical Oncology services.  OHC supports a robust cancer research and clinical trials program, neuro-oncology, cancer genetics specialists and supportive care program.

 

The Radiation Therapist administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Paramount job functions are accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and accurately delivering the prescribed dose. OHC has been fighting cancer on the front lines for more than 38 years. Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist include but are not limited to:

  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into electronic medical record. Participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
  • Assists in maintaining patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
  • Accurately cuts blocks, when applicable.
  • Accurately makes custom molds.
  • Accurately completes simple mu calculations.
  • Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program. Position is entry level and requires 0-3 years experience actively practicing as an RTT. ARRT certification required. Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy.
