Summary

As an Order Picker, you play a critical role in ensuring materials are accurately picked, processed, and delivered to work centers to support smooth production operations. Success in this role means maintaining strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring inventory accuracy, and contributing to a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute all tasks in compliance with company safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of assigned forklifts and equipment.
  • Follow established SOPs for receiving, storing, and issuing materials.
  • Accurately pick and deliver materials to designated work centers based on shop orders.
  • Consolidate pallets to optimize warehouse space utilization.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by updating transactions in the company’s ERP system.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to support operational efficiency.
  • Operate industrial equipment including standard forklifts, reach trucks, and stand-up lifts to move materials and products.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and perform inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in inventory handling.
  • Basic mathematical skills to support counting and inventory tasks.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, including ERP platforms.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve basic operational issues.
  • Strong verbal and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
