Job Function
- Lead maintenance technicians, supervisors, and support resources to meet plant safety, reliability, and production needs.
- Maintain safe work practices, proper PPE standards, and technician readiness for assigned work.
- Oversee maintenance of plant equipment, buildings, grounds, utilities, and production machinery.
- Drive equipment uptime through effective response, quality repairs, PM inspections, and PdM activities.
- Develop, maintain, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Use the CMMS as the maintenance system of record for work orders, PMs, equipment history, labor, and parts activity.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, and follow up on maintenance work to support production schedules and equipment readiness.
- Coordinate outside service providers, contractors, vendors, and technical support when needed.
- Maintain spare-parts inventory, min/max controls, Kanban practices, and organized storage to reduce unnecessary downtime.
- Identify repeat failures, bad actors, and downtime trends that impact production, quality, safety, and cost.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and Plant Leadership on improvement opportunities.
- Set clear expectations for supervisors, technicians, contractors, and outside service providers.
- Hold the team accountable for response time, work quality, PM/PdM completion, follow-up, and department standards.
- Develop technician knowledge through coaching, cross-training, skill development, and ongoing training plans.
- Communicate equipment issues, downtime risks, staffing needs, and improvement opportunities to plant leadership.
- Understand and support company Quality System policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, required paperwork, inspection documentation, and equipment history.

Required Skills
- Industrial maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or steel-processing environment preferred.
- Experience supervising or managing maintenance employees, contractors, and outside service providers.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor, crane, and production equipment systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, mechanical schematics, work orders, manuals, and safety procedures.
- CMMS experience preferred; ability to use maintenance data to support decisions and accountability.
- Lean manufacturing, root-cause analysis, and leadership development experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
