ABOUT THE TEAM

The Finance team at Brahmin plays a critical role in supporting the company’s continued growth while maintaining the financial discipline behind a premium luxury brand. We are a collaborative team within a fast-growing leather goods organization; we partner closely with leaders across the business to provide insights that guide strategic decisions and operational excellence. YOUR IMPACT

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a key role providing accounting and financial support to one on Brahmin’s business channels. You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations and month end financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external guidelines. You will analyze monthly spending, perform commission analysis, review travel expense reports, highlighting opportunities for savings, and assist business leaders in completing annual budgets and monthly forecasts. In addition, you will participate in annual and interim audits, both internal and external. 

The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), is detail oriented and able to work in a deadline driven environment. Exposure to financial analysis and internal controls is a plus. 

Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, solid communication skills, a robust knowledge of MS Excel, and demonstrated ability to consistently meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week at our corporate office in Fairhaven, MA.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Accounting Operations

  • Perform daily accounting activities, including review of expense reports, vendor invoicing, and account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Analyze and ensure accuracy of monthly sales, cost of sales, and commissions for Brahmin owned stores
  • Timely and accurate completion of month end journal entries and closing activities
  • Ensure compliance with Brahmin defined internal controls
  • Participate in annual and interim audits, as needed


Financial Reporting and Budgets

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and forecasts to support informed decision-making
  • Monitor financial performance, highlighting trends and opportunities for Brahmin owned stores
  • Support the annual budgeting process for assigned business channels
  • In conjunction with business leaders complete monthly forecast activities; ensuring accuracy and monitoring for completeness


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance required. Working understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years of accounting experience, including month end close processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to balance priorities and meet pre-defined deadlines.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with excellent problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
