The Senior Manager, Freight Optimization leads strategies to reduce transportation costs, improve service levels, and drive operational efficiency across Acushnet Company’s North American freight network. This role oversees all outbound transportation, including international shipments, managing carrier partnerships and an annual spend exceeding $40M.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute freight optimization strategies using data and analytics to drive cost savings and performance improvements
  • Design and optimize transportation networks across multiple modes and regions
  • Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, ensuring strong service and cost efficiency
  • Own freight budgets and forecasts (OPEX/CAPEX), managing costs and explaining variances
  • Lead transportation systems strategy, including TMS (Manhattan) and SAP integrations
  • Partner cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, operations, and finance
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain leadership

  • Experience managing large freight spend and carrier networks

  • Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills

  • Knowledge of TMS (Manhattan preferred) and SAP

  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive strategic initiatives
