Homestead Village Alabama, part of Community Senior Life, is seeking a dependable and compassionate Cook to join our team. In this role, you’ll do more than prepare meals—you’ll help create comfort, routine, and joy for our residents. Your work plays a key role in supporting the health and well-being of seniors living with memory care needs.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality, understands the importance of consistency, and enjoys working in a team-focused, mission-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet our standards
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Support kitchen organization, cleanliness, and daily operations
  • Work closely with team members to accommodate special dietary needs
  • Assist with inventory and proper storage of food and supplies

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Experience in a professional kitchen or food service setting
  • Ability to follow recipes and safety guidelines
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and organization
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
  • Effective communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, or institutional food service
  • Knowledge of modified or therapeutic diets (low sodium, diabetic, etc.)
  • Food safety certification
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support others
