Exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced medical team within a growing federally qualified community health center. HealthFirst Family Care Center, Inc. “The Heart of Our Community” provides comprehensive services including adult/pediatric medical care, health education, health assessment and screenings, gynecology, cardiology, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and adult/pediatric dental care.

Dentist

Duties include the following:

Examine patients' teeth and surrounding oral cavity using various dental instruments and radiographs to determine the need for dental treatment. Educates patients regarding their care, diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and prognosis. Participate in training and quality improvement activities of the department. Clinical and operational functions are required. Provide dental services to HealthFirst’s patients which include various therapies such as:

· Primary preventive services (preventing initiation of disease): plaque control, pit and fissure sealants, topical fluoride, patient education, and oral cancer screening

· Secondary preventive services (active intervention in disease process): temporary sedative fillings, permanent fillings

· Tertiary preventive services (services to prevent loss of function): molar root canals, minor surgical procedures, pulpotomies, crowns, space maintainers and their appropriate dental treatments and procedures to restore dental health and function. 

Participate in preventive dental education in the schools and within the community. Represents HealthFirst with school and the community as required for community outreach program. Records results of examination in the patient’s dental record and formulates dental plan. May perform minor laboratory procedures as necessary. Perform administrative duties such as maintaining patient records, attend and participate in various meetings within the Health Center

Experience and Education include:

• DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent
• 12 months of experience as a Dentist
• Massachusetts Dental License or Massachusetts Limited      Dental License

Hours/Salary

Minimum of 40 Hours / Week at $116,396.80 per year
