This Universal Banker role will be a Float position.


PURPOSE:

The Universal Banker provides support to the BM and ABM in assisting customers. The Universal Banker may assist management with administrative functions. By delivering a world-class customer experience for all current and prospective customers, the Universal Banker deepens and retains existing customer relationships and may assist with mentoring the teller staff to do the same. Responsible for achieving personal sales goals and proactively guiding sales activities of the platform staff toward achievement of branch goals.

 

Universal Bankers must be available for a variety of hours including early arrival, late departure as well as Saturday and Sunday. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Meet established sales goals and act as a leader in the branch.
  • Able to open new customer accounts and take loan applications as opportunities arise. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen the customer relationship with BankFive. Make outbound calls to review current products and services to ensure customers are highly satisfied.
  • Ensure operational integrity and risk management by ensuring that procedural requirements and processes are known and utilized.
  • May provide guidance to tellers in complex customer transactions. May assist in the training and coaching of tellers.
  • When teller line volume warrants, will provide assistance in the daily teller activities needed to meet the demands of the branch including processing teller transactions and performing standard teller activities.
  • Provide a supporting role ensuring platform team members to ensure customer service levels are exceeding customer expectations.
  • Greet and interact with each customer and non-customer with world class service.
  • May maintain and balance own cash drawer, daily ATM transactions, branch work and vault cash.
  • Answer inquiries regarding bank products and services. Assist customers with problem resolution. This may occur on the teller line, at the desk or over the telephone.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in Business or related area is preferred; High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two of progressive retail banking experience preferred; Bank experience is required.
  • NMLS registration or eligibility for registration is required.
  • Proven experience in customer service, sales/business development and problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to use various office equipment including computer terminal; Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred; knowledge of banking platform programs required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, within deadlines, prioritize and manage changing priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Notary public required (eligibility for registration required at hire).

 

EFFORT:

  • Must be able to stand for an extended period of time.
  • Essential to follow written and verbal directions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and scanners.
  • Use of hands and fingers to handle/ operate a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, scanner, computer printer, as well as fine motor skills to count currency and coins. 
  • Frequently communicates verbally directly with customers and coworkers, often through glass barriers and speaker systems; uses telephone to exchange information. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance visions, ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular travel between main office and branches, often within day of notice



WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Schedule varies weekly; shifts include early arrival, late departure, overtime, and/or Saturday / Sunday hours.
  • Work will be a combination of standing behind the teller line or at the desk assisting customers one on one. 
  • Frequent distractions include overhearing coworker conversations, employees working through the area and similar interruptions.
