Facility Operations Analyst

Clearance Required: Active Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain prior to start)

Position Summary

K2 Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Facility Operations Analyst to support Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Range Operations at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada. This position plays a critical role in ensuring training facilities, live-fire ranges, and associated infrastructure remain safe, operational, and mission-ready in support of U.S. Special Operations Forces.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, building, fabricating, repairing, and solving problems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining live-fire training ranges, constructing and repairing target systems, fabricating training structures, and ensuring Naval Special Warfare ranges remain safe, operational, and mission ready.

This is not a traditional maintenance position. Every day presents new challenges supporting realistic military training for one of the nation's premier Special Operations forces.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on static and non-static live-fire training ranges.
  • Construct, repair, and maintain convoy live-fire ranges and associated target systems.
  • Build, repair, and modify target structures using wood, steel, concrete, and other construction materials.
  • Fabricate target facades, walls, doors, windows, gates, and training structures to replicate real-world environments.
  • Perform general carpentry including framing, installation of doors, windows, wall systems, roofing repairs, and structural repairs.
  • Perform metal fabrication, cutting, grinding, drilling, and welding to repair or fabricate range components and target assemblies.
  • Repair and maintain steel targets, ballistic protection systems, bullet traps, and target mounting systems.
  • Assist with installation, repair, and troubleshooting of portable and fixed target systems.
  • Inspect training ranges before and after exercises to identify damage and perform required repairs.
  • Maintain inventories of target materials, repair parts, construction materials, and maintenance supplies.
  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers, utility vehicles, ATVs, trailers, and other equipment used in support of range operations.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches.
  • Perform range cleanup and debris removal while maintaining compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
  • Maintain maintenance records and document completed work.
  • Support special construction projects to improve or modify training facilities.
  • Work closely with Naval Special Warfare personnel to ensure ranges are fully operational and available for scheduled training.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Carpentry
    • General construction
    • Facility maintenance
    • Heavy industrial maintenance
    • Military range maintenance
    • Commercial maintenance
  • Experience operating common power tools and construction equipment.
  • Ability to safely use saws, drills, grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, sketches, and construction plans.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Walk long distances across unimproved terrain.
  • Work in hot, cold, dusty, and rugged outdoor environments.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and climb throughout the workday.
