We have a great opportunity for a hard-working individual to assist our maintenance team in overall operations and to gain maintenance experience at our apartment community in Falls Church, VA.  

What the Porter will be doing: 
•    General overall cleaning, trash removal and up-keep of common areas.
•    Picking up trash in common areas, grounds, laundry rooms, and parking lot daily.
•    Strip and buff building hallways and laundry rooms with the maintenance supervisor.
•    Assistance with general maintenance tasks in apartment turnover, moving /installing appliances, occasional special projects and other maintenance operations when needed.
•    Working with other maintenance and property department team members to create a positive environment for staff, residents and visitors.
•    Helping to ensure the community meets the expectations of our residents, visitors and owners.

What the Porter will need to succeed:
•    Experience in janitorial role, with prior residential maintenance experience a plus.
•    Medium-heavy work requiring prolonged/repeated standing, walking, climbing and kneeling and working at varying degrees of heights; lifting 100lbs max, frequent lift/carry up to 50 lbs. 
•    Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
•    Strong customer service skills, as well as good communication, time management skills.
•    Reliable transportation, valid driver license and auto insurance required as driving is necessary for this job.
