Vice President, Research & Development

Job Description:

 

HITT Contracting is seeking a Vice President of Research and Development (R&D) whose primary focus will be to accelerate innovation and drive advancements in our four core pillars for construction innovation: methodologies, materials, technology, and performance. The Vice President executes the R&D strategy for the company, working with leadership to develop a vision and the associated initiatives to achieve our business objectives. The ideal candidate will enhance the R&D team’s development and foster a culture of continuous improvement and industry leadership. This position is a department director and reports directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic R&D roadmap to enhance construction efficiency, sustainability, and technology integration.

  • Lead research efforts in emerging construction trends, materials, and methodologies to enhance HITT’s competitive edge.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, industry experts, and external partners to drive innovation and implement best practices.

  • Oversee the development and testing of new construction techniques, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

  • Manage R&D budgets, resources, and department team members to optimize workload allocation, project outcomes, and return on investment.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and digital transformation within construction operations.

  • Represent HITT Contracting in industry forums, conferences, and partnerships to promote thought leadership and innovation.

  • Ensure alignment between R&D initiatives and business goals, supporting operational efficiency and long-term growth.

  • Develop strategic recommendations for the executive leadership on corporate initiatives, acting as a futurist and innovation business partner.

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of professional experience in construction or related industry.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field

  • Proven experience in R&D, especially in the construction industry.

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of driving innovation and implementing new technologies.

  • Deep understanding of construction materials, methodologies, and emerging trends.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
