Assembly Technician

Position Overview

Packet Digital is a fast-growing technology company driven by innovation, precision, and collaboration. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our production team.

In this role, you will support the manufacturing process by assembling, testing, and inspecting advanced electronic products. You will play a key role in bridging engineering design and production, contributing to high-quality builds and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solder wires to connectors and printed circuit boards (PCBs) with precision
  • Weld or crimp batteries to wires or bus bars
  • Research and apply welding techniques for battery components (tabs, cans, bus bars, wires, and circuit boards)
  • Inspect assemblies and materials for defects and ensure quality standards are met
  • Assemble and test final products to ensure proper functionality
  • Build and assemble wire harnesses
  • Support prototype builds and provide feedback to the engineering team for design improvements
  • Assist with 3D printing operations, including setup and post-processing
  • Build, maintain, and improve production test and assembly fixtures
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment
  • Participate in design reviews and DFMEA activities as needed
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in electronics (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of related hands-on experience
  • Strong soldering, micro-welding, and inspection skills
  • Experience working with electronic components, tools, and assembly practices
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies)
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and test plans
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IPC soldering certification
  • Manufacturing or production environment experience
  • Welding or battery assembly experience
  • Experience with incoming inspection processes
