Job Title: Installer Team Lead

Department: Furniture

Status: Full Time / Non-Exempt

Reports To: Workspace Operations Manager

Position Overview 

The Installer Team Lead is responsible for leading furniture installation projects from preparation through completion while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, professionally, and on schedule. This role serves as the on-site lead for installers and subcontractors, interprets plans and installation specifications, coordinates with project managers and customers, resolves job-site challenges, and helps maintain a high level of workmanship and customer satisfaction. The Installer Team Lead is expected to demonstrate advanced product knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to train and support other installers while completing hands-on installation, delivery, documentation, and closeout responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities 

Customer & Stakeholder Management 

• Builds and maintains relationships with install team

• Strengthens customer relationships through excellent service

• Handles escalations and communicates with all necessary parties

• Attends pre-install meetings on jobs greater than $50k with the Project Manager

• Closes out jobs in CORE with customers

• Maintains a professional presence at customer locations


Project & Team Leadership 

• Builds and maintains relationships with Install team

• Independently manages complex projects end to end

• Collaborates with internal furniture team members to resolve issues

• Leads large teams and subcontractors simultaneously

• Proactively and strategically solves unexpected issues (e.g., modifying work surfaces)

• Works effectively both independently and with teams

• Trains other installers on the job


Technical & Product Expertise 

• Deep knowledge of furniture lines, vendors and products

• Serves as a product and supplier expert

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of installation blueprints

• Interprets detailed plans (dimensions, electrical, file bars, layouts)

• Ensures proper layout and panel placement in large spaces


Installation Execution & Operations 

• Executes furniture delivery, unloading, and distribution

• Leads team members in sorting and staging of materials to proper location on site

• Completes installation and assembly per specifications

• Performs quality checks for operability per manufacturer guidelines

• Assembles a variety of furniture types (e.g., chairs from multiple vendors)

• Work with the team to keep job site clean and organized during install

• Documents installs/deliveries in CORE

• Ensures materials are properly loaded, secured, and ready for next-day work.


Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Proven ability to analyze data and drive actionable outcomes

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
