Job DetailsJob Location: Fargo, ND 58102Position Type: Full TimeMarketing Specialist Job Description Position: Marketing Specialist Department: Advancement Reports to: Advancement Director FLSA Classification: Exempt Summary Reporting to the Advancement Director, the Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in supporting New Life Center's marketing, communications, and fundraising initiatives. This position is ideal for a creative, organized individual with strong attention to detail who can balance content creation, event support, and project coordination. The Marketing Specialist contributes to mission-related events, content development, and marketing initiatives by coordinating timelines, assets, and logistics in collaboration with internal teams, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, and aligned with brand standards and mission values. At New Life Center, our work is grounded in our Christian mission and values. Each role contributes to the ministry and operations of the organization. Essential Responsibilities Essential Function 1: Event Planning and Management Assist with all aspects of Mission-related events, including logistics, budgets, timelines, and vendor management (e.g., negotiating contracts for venues, catering, supplies, and event production).  Collaborate with the Advancement Director and other key stakeholders to ensure events reflect the Mission's goals and values.  Work with the Advancement Director and Creative Manager to integrate marketing and communication strategies for event promotion and execution.  Support onsite execution of events, including setup, media capture (photo/video), and post-event follow-up.  Conduct post-event evaluations to assess outcomes and gather feedback. Maintain accurate records of event budgets, attendance, and feedback.  Essential Function 2: Marketing and Communications Support Collaboratively support the Mission’s marketing efforts by assisting with content creation, copywriting, editing, formatting, spell-checking, and proofreading.  Manage New Life Center’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) by scheduling posts, maintaining a content calendar, responding to messages and comments, and supporting the development of engaging, mission-aligned content.  Capture and edit high-quality, brand-aligned photo and video content for use across digital and print platforms, with strong attention to composition, lighting, audio, framing, and storytelling standards. Manage and maintain the organization’s YouTube channel, including uploading videos, writing descriptions, organizing playlists, and ensuring brand consistency.  Assist with the implementation of marketing strategies to enhance engagement and promote events.  Ensure all content aligns with the organization's brand voice, objectives, and guidelines.  Manage Google Business accounts by responding to reviews and monitoring feedback.  Essential Function 3: Community Engagement and Other Build and maintain relationships with community partners, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers.  Represent New Life Center at community events and public gatherings to increase visibility and support.  Ability to travel between New Life Center sites as needed. Position Reports to Andrea Feigum, Advancement Director Andrea directs New Life Center’s fundraising, marketing, and community engagement efforts while overseeing the advancement department staff. She brings nearly 20 years of experience in marketing, public relations, and corporate communications. Andrea joined New Life Center in 2021. Before that, she worked at Dakota Medical Foundation. This job description identifies the major responsibilities of this job. It does not include all aspects of the position such as the potential additional duties assigned by the Advancement Director, the requirement for flexibility in helping others, or the highly valued team-oriented approach used for the overall benefit and success of New Life Center. QualificationsPersonal: Personal, evident, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  Compassionate heart for those in need.  Willingness to serve others.  Desire to see the lost transformed by the love of Christ.  Required Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.  At least 2 years of related professional and marketing experience.  Proficient in Microsoft Office.  Proficient with photography and videography, including editing workflows in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva, with the ability to deliver polished, publication-ready content that meets organizational brand standards. Demonstrated ability to produce visual content that aligns with established brand standards, maintains consistency across platforms, and reflects a high level of attention to detail. Portfolio or examples of photography, videography, or visual content may be requested as part of the application process. Preferred Education and Experience: Knowledge of event coordination and marketing principles, strategies, and tactics.  Additional Eligibility Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.   Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with the organization's insurance carrier requirements, and provide proof of insurance, as required for the performance of job duties. Capability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Work Environment Combination of office-based work and regular on-site and off-site activities related to events, community engagement, and content capture. Regular interaction with staff, volunteers, donors, guests, and community members in a respectful, professional, and compassionate manner. Regular use of standard office equipment and digital tools, including computers, mobile devices, and online platforms. Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting, walking, and occasional lifting related to event setup, content creation, and material handling.
