Position Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for procuring clients, estimating mechanical construction projects—including plumbing, piping, and HVAC—and overseeing those projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role significantly influences Horwitz’s profitability and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
These responsibilities generally describe the nature of the position and may not be all inclusive:
- Lead the estimating and management of projects you procure as well as those estimated by others.
- Establish budgets and oversee all aspects of the project including materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors.
- Uphold and enforce Horwitz’s professional standards and safety-first culture at every phase of the project.
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with quality control and job safety expectations.
- Prepare and manage essential project documentation including submittals, change orders, RFIs, and tracking logs.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Develop and maintain accurate project schedules and coordinate labor and subcontractor activities accordingly.
- Collaborate with owners, general contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and under budget.
- Partner with administrative staff to provide accurate cost forecasting and reporting.
- Execute quality closeout documentation and lead final training sessions with clients to ensure project satisfaction.
- Proactively identify project risks and communicate with stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
- Previous experience in the mechanical construction industry required.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management is a plus.
- Estimating and job cost forecasting experience strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for jobsite travel.
