Acme Equipment in Fargo, ND is looking for a Rental Associate to join our dedicated team. Do you thrive in a work environment where you're always on the move? Schedule: Full-time hours (40 hours/week) during our hours of operation, Monday - Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Your Day-to-Day:

As a Rental Associate, you balance customer service and equipment management. Your responsibilities include:

  • Identifying customer needs to correctly recommend the right tool or equipment
  • Creating, modifying, and closing customer contracts accurately
  • Loading, unloading, and organizing rental equipment around the yard
  • Communicating professionally with customers via phone, email, and in person
  • Instructing customers on tool and equipment safety, operation, loading, and unloading
  • Inspecting tools, equipment, and trailers for damage and reporting repairs needed
  • Recording hours and fuel levels upon rental and return
  • Creating and closing service work orders on the computer
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues for customers in person and on the phone
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
  • Conducting daily inventory reports for tools and equipment inside the store and outside in the yard
  • Scheduling ongoing maintenance to keep equipment in good working condition
  • Conducting regular maintenance and minor repairs on various rental equipment (changing fluids, replacing filters, ignition replacements, changing hydraulic lines, and replacing starters and alternators)
  • Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to and striving to improve safety standards and reporting any suspicious activity
  • Completing related tasks as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work Saturdays
  • Computer skills and ability to learn new software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in all seasons
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for the majority of your shift
  • Ability to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach throughout your shift


We'd Love if You Have:

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Previous experience operating equipment
  • Customer service experience
  • Tools and equipment knowledge
