Are you a proactive, detail-oriented person with great communication skills and a passion for customer service? Butler Machinery wants you to be a Service Advisor, coordinating and scheduling service technician’s time, invoicing work orders, and communicating quotes, job status and scheduling.

We have a generous retirement plan with 10% guaranteed and up to 5% discretionary provided by the company annually once eligibility is met, with no minimum required contributions out of your pocket. Responsibilities:

  • Service Scheduling & Monitoring
    • Routinely monitors equipment hours and generator service schedules to ensure contracted services are completed within the correct hour and date ranges.
    • Assign jobs and work areas to Service Technicians based on skills and knowledge.
    • Schedules CVAs from a regional perspective to ensure that regional resources are being used efficiently. 
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Reviews all repair work orders for accuracy concerning parts, materials and labor, and approves the release of equipment for delivery to the customer. 
    • Implement Contamination Control Guidelines and adhere to all safety rules, policies, and company standards.
    • Promote and uphold the company’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Customer Relations
    • Work closely with systems coordinator, project manager, and customer account manager for generator start ups.
    • Proactively seeks customer feedback, address concerns, and resolve issues promptly. Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints.
    • Maintain a professional image in all customer and community interactions.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Assists in setting priorities for multiple jobs and support team workflow.
    • Responds to employee issues and foster a positive, professional working environment.
    • Participates in department meetings, customer events, and company communication efforts.
    • Provide timely feedback, recognize performance, and motivate employee development. 
    • Coach employees on assignments and offer technical guidance as needed. 
    • Recruit, train, and develop team members in alignment with department goals.
  • Technical Expertise & Development
    • Exhibit strong technical and product knowledge of all equipment sold within the dealership’s area.
    • Engage in company-sponsored training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Operational Support
    • Collaborate with the Service Manager on department performance, profitability, and efficiency.
    • Act as backup for the Service Manager when needed.
    • Handles after-hours calls on a rotating basis to support customers and technicians.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A High school and/or technical school education or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education required.
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Strong computer skills 
  • Strong technical knowledge 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
