Shop Assistant Summary
The Shop Assistant plays a key support role within our Fargo, ND maintenance operation by assisting technicians, supervisors, and administrative staff with a wide range of non-mechanic duties. This position contributes to the efficiency and organization of the shop by supporting maintenance workflow, handling securement-related tasks, and assisting with inventory and material preparation. The role is hands-on, active, and essential to ensuring equipment can be serviced effectively. Success in this position requires the ability to learn, follow direction, stay organized, and work safely in a dynamic shop environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintenance Support // Assists shop staff with non-mechanic tasks that contribute to overall maintenance workflow and shop efficiency.
- Tarp Repair // Inspects and repairs flatbed and glass tarps using approved methods and materials.
- Inventory Assistance // Supports technicians by helping with equipment inventories, materials tracking, and stocking needs.
- Load Transfer Support // Assists with load transfers and coordinates securement materials required for the process.
- Securement Assembly // Uses hand and power tools to build poly-logs, corners, and other securement protection for glass loads.
- Parts Retrieval // Uses a company vehicle to pick up parts and materials from vendors as directed.
- Additional Duties // Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors that align with the role’s scope and support shop operations.

Minimum Qualifications
A High School Diploma, or equivalent, and the demonstrated ability to receive work direction and learn proper processes. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Direction Following // Follows verbal and written instructions accurately to complete assigned tasks.
- Tool Handling // Safely uses basic hand and power tools as required for securement-related assembly.
- Safety Awareness // Adheres to shop safety standards and practices safe movement within a shop environment.
- Physical Capability // Performs physically active work including standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and maneuvering materials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shop Experience // Brings prior experience working in a maintenance or shop environment.
- CDL Exposure // Possesses a Class A CDL or has experience working around CDL-regulated equipment.
- Material Handling // Is familiar with securement equipment, inventories, or shop materials processes.
Salary and Schedule
- Salary // Pay will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
- Schedule // This position is located in Fargo, ND and is on-site. The working days are Monday–Friday, and the working hours are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
