Assistant Superintendent (Wastewater Projects)

Description

Due to growth and expansion, we are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Dallas area, with a strong emphasis on self-performed concrete work, site work, and underground utility installation. In this role, you will help lead field operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil utility construction and a proven ability to support high-quality project delivery. All work is local with no travel required.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead and supervise field crews on water, wastewater, and civil utility construction projects
• Oversee installation of water lines, sanitary sewer, storm drainage systems, and associated site work
• Manage daily field operations, including layout, excavation, trenching, pipe installation, and structural concrete placement
• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to maintain project schedules and productivity goals
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements
• Interpret construction drawings, details, and specifications and proactively resolve field issues
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance standards
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, inspectors, engineers, owners, and other project stakeholders
• Maintain daily jobsite documentation, including production reports, safety records, and inspection logs
• Lead jobsite safety meetings, toolbox talks, and quality control inspections
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and progress tracking
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance project performance and field operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3+ years of field leadership experience in water, wastewater, and civil utility construction
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Experience managing field crews and coordinating daily construction activities
• Knowledge of underground utility installation, site work, and concrete construction practices
• Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards
