The Director of Construction is a senior leader who is responsible for managing all aspects of new restaurant construction, remodels, and renovation projects. This person will oversee the entire construction lifecycle, from initial planning and site assessment to project completion and closeout. The ideal candidate is an experienced and highly organized professional with a proven ability to manage complex projects on time and on budget.


Essential Job Functions:

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead and manage all construction projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, including site surveys, permitting, bidding, construction, and final punch lists.

Vendor and Team Management

  • Source, select, and manage general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and other third-party vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure favorable pricing and project outcomes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all construction-related matters, communicating effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Real Estate, and Design teams) and external partners.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure construction plans align with brand standards and operational needs.

Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure all construction projects comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to project plans.
  • Manage the project closeout process, including final inspections, lien waivers, and turnover to the operations team.
