Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our Data, Power & Control (CCB) Team in Farmingdale, NY. This role supports a safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible workplace by leading key EHS initiatives that encourage collaboration and continuous improvement.

What Will You Do?

You will contribute to creating a workplace where every team member feels valued and safe. Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively monitor safe working conditions through a strong, supportive presence on the floor.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain EHS programs using an inclusive, team-centered approach.
  • Lead environmental programs related to air, waste, and wastewater.
  • Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Address safety concerns constructively and evaluate corrective actions.
  • Partner collaboratively with teams and vendors to evaluate tools and equipment that improve ergonomics and reduce risk.
  • Guide the Safety Committee and support an open, participatory safety culture.
  • Encourage daily safety talks and ensure shared understanding across teams.
  • Implement and evaluate training to meet EPA, ISO-14001, and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct or coordinate training on safe operations, hazard identification, and safety equipment.
  • Manage ergonomic assessments and continuous improvements.
  • Inspect facilities to ensure regulatory compliance and hazard elimination.
  • Ensure reporting, analysis, and recordkeeping for EHS compliance.
  • Align corporate and local EHS goals.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Education

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety.
  •  Manufacturing experience preferred.
  •  Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred as part of our commitment to inclusive communication.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to conduct incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and develop solutions effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data for reports.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental and safety regulations.

Salary and Benfits: $100,000 - $120,000 plus bonus
