Alcott HR is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including the Accounts Payable function. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and Balance Sheet/P&L accounts
  • Assist with external audits and provide required documentation
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and obtain proper levels of approval
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and process checks runs, ACH and wire payments
  • Maintain and reconcile the accounts payable ledger
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience (public or private)
  • Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, etc)
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in a PEO environment a plus
  • A proactive, optimistic mindset
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Problem solving and follow-up skills

Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience
