Primary Position Objectives

Maximize operational efficiency by strategic planning, resource organization, and daily operational oversight


Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Description of Duties

Supervise

  • Responsible for production volume, meeting production schedules and delivery dates as directed. 
  • Responsible for the quality of product produced and support documentation in accordance with quality standards.
  • Assures quality procedures are understood and followed. 
  • Reviews labor & machine efficiency, and material utilization.
  • Serve as primary point of contact between team and upper management
  • Define and recommend objectives in each area.
  • Make decisions, as required, to achieve production schedules (i.e. hiring, overtime, lay-offs, terminations, etc.)
  • Provide daily guidance, direction, and support to direct reports
  • Set clear expectations for performance standards and deliverables
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and priorities
  • Delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability
  • Keep employees informed as to company/department plans and progress.
  • Perform monthly department Quality and Safety meetings
  • Part of the decision process for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures.
  • Monitors on-the-job training activities. 
  • Conducts probationary and performance reviews of employees and recommends increases, retraining, or transfers.

Performance Management

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports
  • Perform annual performance evaluations and mid-year reviews
  • Identify training and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Address performance issues promptly and document corrective actions
  • Recognize and reward outstanding performance
  • Implement performance improvement plans when necessary

Administrative duties

  • Approve time-off requests, overtime, and schedule adjustments
  • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance and performance
  • Prepare and submit budget recommendations for team operations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Participate in hiring decisions and new employee onboarding

Other

  • Maintain adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good sanitation standards.
  • Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Serve as primary point of contact between team and upper management
  • Provide regular status reports on team performance and project progress
  • Communicate organizational changes and initiatives to team members
  • Escalate significant issues or concerns to appropriate management levels
  • Facilitate conflict resolution between team members
  • May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job.


Qualifications


Education/Experience

  • High school graduate.
  • Two to five years of direct related experience, with at least two years’ experience as a supervisor and/or leader.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • High energy level, self-starter good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
  • Resourceful and well organized.
  • Participative management style - advocate of team concept.
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
  • Ability to recognize and support the organization’s preference and priorities.
  • Results and people oriented, external and internal service orientated.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365
