Job Title: Team Leader
Reports To: Value Stream Manager

Role Overview

The Team Leader plays a critical hands-on leadership role within Mott’s manufacturing operations. This position serves as a role model on the production floor, balancing daily execution with coaching, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Team Leaders directly influence safety, quality, delivery, and team performance, acting as a key driver of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze manufacturing and sales order data daily to identify issues, set priorities, and assign personnel across multiple manufacturing cells

  • Support production needs by producing or inspecting parts to ensure schedules and quality requirements are met
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify gaps and improvement opportunities; partner with Quality and Engineering on solutions
  • Lead and complete continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by the Value Stream Manager
  • Monitor employee performance and address corrective actions up to documented records when necessary
  • Drive resolution of customer complaints in collaboration with the Quality team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and teamwork

Major Challenges

  • Maintaining cross-training and competency across multiple job functions

  • Managing high-mix, high-volume production environments
  • Addressing documentation gaps and coordinating updates with Engineering
  • Responding to demand fluctuations with limited forecast visibility

Success Metrics

  • Completion of 100% of assigned safety initiatives on time
  • 99% on-time completion of work orders to schedule
  • 100% team competency to current manufacturing standards
  • 50% reduction in manufacturing nonconformance over three years

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience (or three years at Mott)
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing documentation

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $48,000.00 - $72,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
