Job Title: Team Leader
Reports To: Value Stream Manager

Role Overview

The Team Leader plays a critical hands-on leadership role within Mott’s manufacturing operations. This position serves as a role model on the production floor, balancing daily execution with coaching, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Team Leaders directly influence safety, quality, delivery, and team performance, acting as a key driver of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze manufacturing and sales order data daily to identify issues, set priorities, and assign personnel across multiple manufacturing cells
Support production needs by producing or inspecting parts to ensure schedules and quality requirements are met
Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify gaps and improvement opportunities; partner with Quality and Engineering on solutions
Lead and complete continuous improvement initiatives as assigned by the Value Stream Manager
Monitor employee performance and address corrective actions up to documented records when necessary
Drive resolution of customer complaints in collaboration with the Quality team
Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and teamwork

Major Challenges

Maintaining cross-training and competency across multiple job functions
Managing high-mix, high-volume production environments
Addressing documentation gaps and coordinating updates with Engineering
Responding to demand fluctuations with limited forecast visibility

Success Metrics

Completion of 100% of assigned safety initiatives on time
99% on-time completion of work orders to schedule
100% team competency to current manufacturing standards
50% reduction in manufacturing nonconformance over three years

Required Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience (or three years at Mott)
Prior leadership experience
Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing documentation

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $48,000.00 - $72,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
