Position Summary
The Hotel Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service to hotel guests while creating a welcoming and engaging bar atmosphere. This role includes preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining bar inventory and cleanliness, and delivering high-quality hospitality consistent with the standards of a full-service hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
- Provide attentive and friendly service to hotel guests, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
- Engage with guests in a professional manner and make beverage or menu recommendations when appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including counters, glassware, and equipment.
- Accurately process guest orders and payments using the hotel’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service practices.
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age in accordance with state laws.
- Restock bar supplies, including liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, and glassware.
- Assist with inventory tracking and report low stock levels to management.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and hotel policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Assist with bar setup and breakdown for events, banquets, or special functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience, ideally in a hotel, restaurant, or high-volume bar environment.
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, wine, and beverage preparation.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders efficiently.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol as required by state law.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with hotel POS systems.
- Knowledge of local craft beers, wines, and spirits.
- Upselling and guest engagement skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds (cases of beer, liquor, or bar supplies).
- Ability to reach, bend, and perform repetitive motions behind the bar.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced hospitality setting within a full-service hotel bar or lounge.
- Interaction with guests from diverse backgrounds including business travelers, groups, and event attendees.
