Position Summary: Â
The Ambulatory Application Analyst works under the direction of the application’s team lead to design, build, & test clinical systems. They support workflow analysis, design and build sessions with subject matter experts (physicians, nursing, and other ancillary services personnel). They complete in-depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality to deliver expected outcomes. Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position. Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt usage of the application. This position is part of an on-call rotation.   Â
Position Responsibilities:Â
- Facilitates the design, development, system configuration, implementation, and support of information systems for the organization.Â
- Understands the operational issues within their application area well enough to represent their user’s needs.Â
- Planning, development, training, implementation, and evaluation of application functionality.Â
- Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems and customer issues. Â
- Provides on-call support to customers. Â
- May support multi-specialty services lines and Epic Applications including Oncology/Beacon or Transplant/Phoenix.Â
- Working with the team and key customers to ensure appropriate development, training, and implementation of application functionality.Â
- Collaborates and consults with application director, project manager, Informatics, and other team leaders to coordinate activities.Â
- Analyzes workflow and translates into application configurations to ensure consistent system design. Â
- Participate actively in weekly team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates. Â
- Coordinates vendor support for functional and technical support of assigned areas as needed. Â
- Assists in the development and documentation of internal policies and procedures that will be used in conjunction with the application.Â
- Builds effective relationships and communication with clinical and business partners through all the phases of the projects to support completing project's goalsÂ
- Contributes in the preparation and execution of testing scripts and materials and performs unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.Â
- Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents and configure system accordingly.Â
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.Â
Position Qualifications:Â
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a HealthCare environment required.Â
- Four years of experience in clinical applications experience required.Â
- Experience in clinical information system management in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred. Â
- Epic Ambulatory certification preferred.Â
- Must be willing to attend required Epic training at the Epic training center.Â

- Reports to work on time and meets acceptable standards for attendance, based upon the department attendance policy.Â

- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and sound judgment.Â
- Must be willing to learn new technologies and techniques.Â
- Must be willing and able to come to work in adverse weather conditions.Â
- Travel to locations within Connecticut and surrounding States will be required.Â
