Special Education Teacher Discovery Schools - Farmington 

$42,000 - 48,000 Starting Pay with Bonuses

Experience with students with social, emotional, and behavioral concerns preferred. Pay compensated for experience. 

Minimum of Bachelor's Degree Required. (Assistance Provided to Obtain Teaching Certification in the State of Missouri.)

Mild/Moderate Cross Categorical Teaching Certification Preferred or able to obtain. 

Job Expectations:

- Works to design instructional opportunities for students to access state learning standards and to achieve IEP, Behavior Intervention Plan, and transition goals.

- Manages the classroom environment and the various adults assigned to supporting classroom needs.

- Leads/assists teams supporting a student in crisis through implementation of Safe Crisis Management and other crisis management strategies. 

- Monitors students receiving related services weekly (Speech, Occupational Therapy, Counseling, etc.)

- Accepts direction and adheres to policies and procedures.

- Demonstrates tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication and reacts calmly and effectively in high emotion situations.

- Maintains ongoing progress records for all students assigned and communicates regularly to parents.

- Demonstrates preparedness for IEP meetings through the submission of drafted documents according to supervisors timeline.
