Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the business’ goals and objectives.


Summary of essential job functions and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility and equipment including: Conveyors, PLC Controlled Equipment, HVAC, Ovens, and Packaging Equipment
  • F&M’s equipment is custom and very unique, and in some cases proprietary, hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanically operated heavy fabrication type equipment. Maintenance normally involves replacement of failed components such as valves, actuators, switches, relays and bearings.
  • Install, set up, and troubleshoot molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and assembly equipment
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and correct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process problems associated with production equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Provide technical support for production
  • Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment and perform necessary preventative maintenance routines
  • Working knowledge of electronic systems and pneumatics
  • Excellent use of all shop tools, i.e. drill press, welding, grinders, hand tools, etc.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Complete necessary documentation of repair information
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Participate in problem solving and process improvements on existing and new equipment

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Secondary Education Certificate or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with and maintaining production machinery in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to maintain production systems by diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience and knowledge in electronics, schematic reading, welding, fabrication, pneumatics
  • Experience maintaining building facilities
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions with little or no supervision
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read mechanical and/or engineering blueprints, drawings, and wiring schematics
  • Excellent attendance and strong commitment to quality and safety
  • Attention to detail
  • Organization and cleanliness
  • Strong computer knowledge

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Must be able to reach, twist, bend, squat, push, pull, and climb continuously as needed
  • Must be able to work effectively in a shared work environment as a member of a team workforce
  • Must possess and display good interpersonal skills when communicating to supervisors, co-workers and administration
  • Must be able to display strong multitasking and troubleshooting skills

Work Environment:

  • Occasionally exposed to seasonal temperature extremes (heat, cold, wet and/or humid)
  • Occasionally exposed to chemical substances and/or fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals (protective equipment available)
  • Noise level varies from low to moderate (hearing protection available)
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places
