The Facility Shift Manager delivers exceptional customer service to all students, faculty, members and guests and is responsible for providing a clean, safe, and friendly environment. MAJOR聽DUTIES
聽
路 Guide and supervise part-time staff during shift.
聽
路 Monitor and manage facility usage and activities within the activity wing of the聽HHPC; enforce聽HHPC聽and聽SJC聽policies and procedures.
聽
路 Open and close the聽HHPC; ensure facility is staffed appropriately at all times and assist in finding shift coverage; delegate shift duties to ensure customer service and safety standards are followed.
聽
路 Prepare opening and closing duty report; complete and file appropriate shift paperwork.
聽
路 Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, members and guests.
聽
路 Recommend sports equipment and fitness equipment purchases.
聽
路 Proactively and accurately respond to questions regarding memberships, rentals, and programs.
路 Assist聽HHPC聽coordinators with program facilitation, set up and break down; assist in implementing emergency response plans.
聽
路 Solve problems and resolve conflict.
聽
路 Submit complete and accurate work-orders, incident reports, and accident reports.
聽
路 Maintain security standards and coordinate with聽SJC聽Department of Public Safety.
聽
路 Assist in coordinating the cleaning of the facility and equipment.
聽
路 Oversee special events in the activity wing.
聽
路 Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY聽CONTROLS
聽
The Member Services and Operations Coordinator assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks work as it is done for compliance with detailed and specific instructions and established procedures.

Guidelines include the college employee handbook, the聽HHPC聽handbook, and other college and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.

路 The work consists of varied management and customer service duties. The variety of tasks to be managed contributes to the complexity of the position.

路 The purpose of this position is to monitor all activity within the Health and Human Performance Center activity wing. Success in this position results in an efficient and effective operation.

PHYSICAL聽DEMANDS/聽WORK聽ENVIRONMENT

路 The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell.

路 The work is typically performed in an office or outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

This position has direct supervision over part-time shift staff.
