Job DetailsJob Location: Farm plant - Farmville, VA 23901Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $17.00 - $27.00 Hourly POSITION SUMMARY Safely performs propane tank sets, installations, leak and pressure test and repairs on gas burning appliances in accordance with local, state and national codes.  Will provide excellent customer service by completing these activities in a professional and positive manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Essential Functions: Delivers products efficiently and according to customers' requests and POC safety policies. Captures daily work activities accurately Participates in Weekend/Weeknight on Call as scheduled. Responsible for maintaining the company image and integrity. Responsible for activity supporting company communication by providing timely, ongoing feedback to manager, management team and ownership regarding regional, industry, or customer specific activity or conversation. Must comply with all company policies and safety practices. Including pre-trip, post trip, and pre-maintenance inspections. Deliver, set and install propane tanks and gas lines Drive a van or boom truck for delivery or installations Conduct system leak and pressure test Troubleshoots and repair gas burning appliances Ensure company and local, state and national safety, policy, regulatory standards are met and maintain zero preventable accidents Maintain gas check and compliance forms Deliver new customer safety information packets and review with customers to ensure customers is aware of the dangers of propane and propane safety Load, unload and safely operate gasoline powered trencher to install gas lines Assist with training new employees Completing all assigned training classes in person and online Expect to work overtime during the busy season- October to April During the slow season- April to September, you will be asked to work around the plant, painting, cutting the grass, picking up trash, organizing equipment, painting tanks, picking up tanks, putting  meters on tanks, doing leak checks, and any other task as of you by your immediate supervisor or manager that is in place at the time. During the busy season there is zero tolerance for call outs and no shows.  Employees are expected to arrive at work at the assigned time and work until the end of their shift.   Qualifications Certificates & Licenses:  Class B Commercial Driver's License w/hazmat and airbrake endorsement. Excellent driving record. Current Medical Certification     PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work in this classification can be considered heavy physical work requiring the exertion of up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and between 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 75 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. The employee must be able to consistently and with strength: walk, lift, carry reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, push, pull and crouch. Physical effort is exerted on a routine, frequent basis.    THE EMPLOYEE MUST SPECIFICALLY: Drive or stand for prolonged periods of time. Lift, pull and connect fueling hoses to load and dispense products. Work around obstructions at residential and commercial delivery sites and pull hose long distances. Work in various inside but mostly outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, job hazards and atmospheric conditions. Work in adverse weather conditions which may involve extreme heat, rain, deep snow, ice, and various types of ground conditions such as uneven terrain such as slopes, gullies, etc. Climb ladders or other structures to load and unload products and for frequent ingress / egress to and from the truck cab. A driver handling Propane normally performs work activities at ground level, i.e. is not required to climb onto truck’s tank compartment for loading / unloading. However, Propane Tanks (from 250-1000 gallon in size) must sometimes be placed for customers or removed and the use of assisting equipment along with collaboration with a co-worker is necessary. This will require some physical exertion like the typical day-to-day physical demands. Lift, pull and/or move objects between 10 (frequently) and up to 75 pounds (occasionally); Sustain moderate physical effort for up to 8 - 12 hours. Exhibit full range of motion for shoulder external rotation and internal rotation; shoulder abduction and adduction, elbow flexion and extension, shoulder extension and flexion, hip flexion and extension and knee flexion; wrist flexion and extension; finger flexion and extension Use visual acuity required for depth perception Visually inspect small defects and/or small parts, sometimes requiring bending, stooping or crouching’ Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools Maintains miscellaneous service duties such as checking daily oil, water, fuel, tires and tank related items. Hear sufficiently to accurately perceive information at normally spoken word levels. Use communication by means of spoken word to express or exchange ideas – also the usage of a cell phone and tablet is required. Exhibit and utilize basic reading, math and computer skills. Preferred Education and Experience High School diploma of General Education Certificate (GED). Two years’ progressive experience in delivery or logistics is preferred. HVAC certification, and electrical certifications or courses are a plus
