Description
Job Summary: The Material Flow Supervisor owns the movement of materials from receiving to the production line. This role leads the warehouse/materials team, manages inventory accuracy, and ensures production has what it needs on time and without issues.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Supervise, train, and develop the warehouse/material flow team.Â
- Assign work, set expectations, and hold the team accountable for accuracy, pace, and safety.Â
- Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance discussions.Â
- Oversee receiving, put-away, material staging, line replenishment, and internal material movements.Â
- Ensure materials arrive to production on time, in the right quantities, and in usable condition.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and adherence to safety procedures.Â
- Own inventory accuracy across all Qnergy locations.Â
- Lead cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.Â
- Ensure all ERP transactions are completed accurately and in real time.Â
- Monitor shortages, backorders, and critical material risks; escalate early and clearly.Â
- Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to resolve issues fast.Â
- Provide clear communication on material flow status and impacts to the production schedule.Â
- Standardize and improve material handling, labeling, routing, and replenishment workflows.Â
Requirements
Education & Experience:Â
- 2 – 3 years of supervisor experience in materials, warehousing, logistics, or inventory control.Â
- 3 – 5 years of experience working in shipping & receiving, logistics, scheduling, or inventory control.Â
- Hands-on experience supporting a manufacturing environment.Â
- Forklift certification required.Â
- Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing.Â
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of inventory control, FIFO, cycle counting, and material flow.Â
- Proficiency with ERP systems and a high sense of ownership over data integrity.Â
- Solid leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Â
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on operation.Â
- Detail-oriented, consistent, organized, and able to multi-task.Â
- Good written and verbal communication skills.Â
- Familiarity with Lean, 5S, and standard work.Â
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/warehouse environment with frequent, walking, standing, and material handling.Â
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. with or without assistance.Â
