General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the comprehensive financial management of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and analysis
  • Protect the privacy of the agency and hold in confidence all information about customers


Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies, while also contributing to the overall financial health of the organization
  • Manage the financial aspects of grants, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with administrative and program staff to develop grant budgets and monitor their activity in the accounting software
  • Audit grant accounting data and correct errors
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, statutes, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Review and submit timely financial reports to government agencies and other funding sources
  • Monitor grant contractor and sub-recipient agreements, ensuring adherence to financial policies and sound business practices
  • Review Financial Policies Procedures at least annually or as needed for proposed updates
  • Assist with updating other financial policies and procedures
  • Gather and prepare information for the annual Single Audit and other required financial audits and monitoring
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting financial projections
  • Supervise preparation of journal entries and month-end closing process
  • Gather and prepare information for the annual financial audit
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Manage the performance of the Budget Coordinator and Accounting Specialist
  • Facilitate comprehensive orientation and ongoing training within the Finance Department
  • Complete other tasks, projects, and responsibilities as assigned


Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with an accounting concentration
  • Minimum of three years of experience in accounting and business administration


Additional Requirements:

  • Work is performed in an office cubicle environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Must be able to move short distances, exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must have proficient computer and technical skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, provide proof of insurance, and successfully pass a motor vehicle record review annually.
  • Must successfully pass a background check, including criminal history and Central Registry clearance, at the time of hire and when requested at any time during employment.
  • Must comply with the Agency's smoke-free and drug-free policies.
