Job DetailsJob Location: Methodist University Location - Fayetteville, NC 28311Position Type: Full Time StaffJob Description Reporting to the Dean of the College of Business, Technology & Professional Studies, the administrative assistant performs a wide variety of clerical duties for faculty members in the College of Business, Technology & Professional Studies. The administrative assistant works closely with the dean and department chairs in the preparation and submission of various correspondence, reports, and special projects as assigned. When needed, the administrative assistant will provide general assistance to academic events on campus and other duties as assigned. This position may exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned student workers.  Responsibilities: Maintain the day-to-day operation and issue work orders when needed in three academic buildings: Allison Hall, Clark Hall, and the Hendricks Science Complex. Provide clerical assistance to the dean, department chairs, and faculty in the areas of requisitions, budget preparation and monitoring, faculty travel requests and expense reimbursement. Assist academic units in the college in scheduling of meetings, reservation of rooms for meetings and events, and the record-keeping of meetings. Assist academic units in the college with their accreditation processes including the planning, logistics of site visits, document record and organization, and report production aspects of the processes. Prepare and send welcome letters to prospective students. Prepare reports on applicants, students, and graduates as needed by program Work with Cumberland County Schools to coordinate field experiences and student teacher placement in the EDU Department program Customer-facing tasks include directing students and visitors to the various academic units in the college and respond to inquiries by email and phone. Help plan and coordinate events participated, hosted or sponsored by academic units in the college including but not limited to the Symposium week, Awards Day, STEM Camp, and University Open House. Assist in other program-related events as assigned. Use available technologies to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Adapt to new computer systems and software that may be deployed by the University to perform job duties. QualificationsEducation/Experience: High school diploma required Experience with workplaces in Higher Education preferred Knowledge of: University policies, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to student admission and acceptance to the University and the various programs within the College of Business, Technology & Professional Studies Productivity office software and university enterprise systems (SIS/ERP, LMS, MS365). Modern office procedures, practices, and equipment. Basic knowledge of accounting procedures Record keeping principles and procedures  Ability to: Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Operate various office equipment efficiently and accurately Adapt to new office technologies and changing operational environments Work independently Be highly self-motivated and demonstrate a high level of initiative Establish and maintain professional working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Set priorities and handle multiple tasks Â
