Position Summary Washington Regional's Walker Heart Institute is currently seeking a full-time Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider, to join a well-established high-volume practice. Walker Heart is comprised of 7 Interventional Cardiologists, 2 Electrophysiology Cardiologists, 1 General Cardiologist, 3 CV Surgeons and 19 Advanced Practice Providers. The ideal candidate will be committed to clinical excellence in a strong health system which offers full practice support with a large referral base from 200+ employed physicians and advanced practice providers. Essential Position Responsibilities Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses. Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests. Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary. Prescribe and dispense medications. Document medical information of patients and maintain electronic medical records. Educate, instruct, and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors. Request consultation or referral with other health care providers, such as physicians and clinics. Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects. Qualifications Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Licensure and Certifications: Nurse Practitioner License and CPR, required. National certification, required. Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a previous clinical nursing role, required. Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs.
