JOB TITLE: Parent Aide (FRC Exchange Parent Aide Program)
REPORTS TO: Family Resource Center Program Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
路 Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
路 At least two years of experience working with families experiencing trauma, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, and child abuse and/or neglect.
路 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
路 Demonstrates knowledge and experience of child development and effective parenting techniques.
路 Demonstrates knowledge of resources and/or services in the community for the target population.
路 Demonstrates compassion and empathy in relating to clients with diverse needs.
路 Effective verbal and written communication skills.
路 Valid driver's license and vehicle in good working condition.
路 Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check, including no history of DUI violations.
路 Proficiency with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Excel. With a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
路 Proficiency in client coaching, memtoring, and skill development
路 Ability to work in fastpaced enviornemnt
路 Knowledge of child welfare best practices in Georgia
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Parent Aide will provide in-home support and guidance to parents to improve their parenting skills, enhance family functioning, and ensure the safety and well-being of children. This position is part of the Exchange Parent Aide Program, which aims to strengthen families through parent education, support, and case management in the homes of at-risk families.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
路 Provide in-home support and guidance to parents.
路 Ensure service delivery is consistent with the Exchange Parent Aide Model and all regulatory stipulations for the State of Georgia.
路 Conduct regular weekly home visits to assess family dynamics, provide support, and model effective parenting techniques.
路 Conduct family-centered assessments and assist parents in developing and implementing personalized family service plans.
路 Maintain a caseload of 12-15 families.
路 Maintain a flexible workweek; schedule sessions at times that are convenient for families, including evenings, weekends,
路 Participation in on-call afterhours rotation as needed
路 Enhance parenting skills by providing education on parenting techniques, child development, and effective coping and communication skills.
路 Collaborate with Family Support Specialist to assist families in identifying and accessing community resources and services.
路 Develop and foster social connections for families through group meetings, activities, and referrals.
路 Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of home visits, observations, and interventions.(BIRP notes)
路 Use agency's online data management system for all documentation.
路 Prepare reports and documentation as required by the program.deadline
路 Monitor the progress of families and adjust support strategies as needed.
路 Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities to enhance service delivery.
路 Develop and maintain positive working relationships with families, referral sources, and community providers.
路 Participate in weekly team consultation meetings and individual supervision.
路 Participate in agency activities, required meetings, and trainings as mandated.
路 Work with supervisor to complete professional development plans and performance reviews.
路 Adhere to all program policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
路 Other duties as assigned
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: This is a full-time salaried contracted position requiring flexibility of schedule. Some weekends and evenings are required. Travel throughout Spalding and Fayette County.
