Position Summary The role of the Surgery Scheduling Coordinator reports to the Director of Business Operations, Surgical Services. This position is responsible for scheduling surgical procedures to assist with efficient use of surgical services resources and optimize surgical patient access across several sites of surgical and procedural care at WRMC. This position serves as a liaison among surgeons, surgery clinic teams, anesthesiology, surgical services leaders, and external partners and promotes streamlined processes and clear communication through the patients’ pre-operative experience. The Surgery Scheduling Coordinator supports the Director of Business Operations in executing the block allocation strategy for WRMC. Essential Position Responsibilities Schedule surgical procedures within established guidelines and by coordinating available resources Assist Director of Business Operations with management of surgical and procedural block allocation Ensure patients’ appointments for pre-anesthesia evaluation are scheduled per guidelines Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills and excellent customer service in all interactions and communications Maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record (EMR) Proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts or barriers Collaborate with surgical clinic teams and Surgical Services leaders to maintain workflow efficiency Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or healthcare related certification preferred. Licensure and Certifications: N/A Experience: 1year of experience in a healthcare setting or related environment. Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Teams and Outlook. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proven attention to detail.
